Carol Lacey

Psychotherapist and Counsellor

My approach aims to

  • Help you understand your issues clearly

  • Establish therapeutic and life goals

  • Positively change any unhelpful thinking patterns or self-beliefs

  • Reduce the physical stress with Mindfulness skills

  • Create greater emotional understanding

  • Enable you to work through issues and problems

Therapy provides a safe and confidential space to share with someone professionally trained but also separate from your current relationships.  This different relationship provides the opportunity to explore and share without judgement, creating the potential for new perspectives and change.  I work with clients in a gentle and focused way to support positive change.

About me

I am a qualified Counselling Psychotherapist, with full accredited membership of the Irish Institute of Counselling & Psychotherapists (IACP). I operate my own Private Practice from Dublin City Centre, providing safe and secure Online and Face to Face Psychotherapy for individuals.

Alongside my therapeutic experience I have worked for almost 15 years in Professional and Personal Development, training, mentoring, and coaching groups and individuals to achieve their goals.  Aside from working with clients, I regularly facilitate a range of workshops and training.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes driving a person’s present behaviour.

The goals of psychodynamic therapy are developing a client’s understanding of the influence of the past on present behaviour creating greater self-awareness.

CBT

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment. Its goal is to change patterns of thinking and behaviour underlying a person’s difficulties, and so change the way they feel.

Attachment Based Therapy

Attachment-based therapy is an approach to therapy that specifically targets those thoughts, feelings, communications, behaviours, clients have learned either to suppress, avoid, or overemphasize because of early developmental experiences.

The goal is to address the limiting effects of negative early attachment experiences and strengthen the ability for secure relationships and adopt new approaches to living.
